Sasori, also known as Sasori of the Red Sand, is a prominent antagonist in the *Naruto Shippuden* anime and manga series. He first appears in the anime in episode 2 of *Naruto Shippuden*.

Sasori was a powerful ninja from Sunagakure (Hidden Sand Village) and a member of the Akatsuki organization. He was a master puppeteer, renowned for his ability to create and control lifelike puppets.

Driven by a deep loneliness and a desire for immortality, Sasori transformed his own body into a puppet, retaining only his core. He collected human bodies and converted them into puppets, including the Third Kazekage, which became one of his strongest weapons.

Ultimately, Sasori was defeated by his grandmother, Chiyo, and Sakura Haruno in a fierce battle. His story explores themes of loneliness, the pursuit of immortality, and the loss of humanity.
